About Me

Polly Royle BA (Hons) MBACP

A little bit about me.

Welcome to my website

I hope if we work together you will find me to be kind, supportive and easy to talk to.

I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist based in Ipswich and Woodbridge, Suffolk specialising in  loss, bereavement and relationships. As a trauma informed practitioner I can help, but not diagnose, symptoms or issues caused by a traumatic event that leaves a person either reliving the experience and/or suffering from the effect(s) of trauma.  I work privately with clients and have worked voluntarily for St Helena Hospice as a bereavement counsellor. I have also been married for 30 years and a parent for 29 years, both of which I bring my experience and knowledge to my practice.

My counselling degree gave me a broad knowledge of counselling theories and my work has since gained me experience of working in more depth with a variety of ages and a wide range of issues. Some, but not all of the issues included in my work are depression, abuse, living with someone with an eating disorder, low self-esteem, relationships, work difficulties, bullying, anger management, trauma, loss, bereavement and parenting skills. I am also committed to continuing professional development to support my therapeutic work and my work is professionally supervised.

Before training I worked within the commercial and residential sectors of the property world and more recently for two schools, one of which was for children with low to moderate learning difficulties. In between paid employment I took time out working voluntarily for charitable organisations and helping with the production of a cookery book.
