About Me

Polly Royle BA (Hons) MBACP

Welcome to my website

I hope if we work together you will find me to be kind, supportive and easy to talk to.

I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist based in Colchester, Essex specialising in  loss, bereavement and couples counselling.  I work both privately with clients and voluntarily for St Helena Hospice as a bereavement counsellor. I have also been married for 27 years and a parent for 25 years, both of which I bring my experience and knowledge to my practice.

My counselling degree also gives me a broad knowledge of different therapeutic models enabling me to work integratively. I have experience of working with a variety of ages with a wide range of issues which include anxiety, depression, abuse, eating disorders, low self-esteem, relationships, work difficulties, bullying, anger management, trauma, loss, bereavement and parenting skills. I am also committed to continuing professional development to support my therapeutic work and my work is professionally supervised.

Before training I worked within the commercial and residential sectors of the property world and more recently for two schools, one of which was for children with low to moderate learning difficulties. In between paid employment I took time out working voluntarily for charitable organisations and helping with the production of a cookery book.
